About Me.

My name is Veronique and I am the proud owner of Leafy Gains protein cookies. As some of you may or may not know, I am also a competitive powerlifter at the international level. Before I ever started lifting weights, one of my hobbies as a teen consisted of baking healthy snacks: just ask my mom, she will tell you that she could not keep me out of the kitchen. In 2020, I was looking to raise money to go to Nationals and I thought: “What better way to combine my love of lifting with baking than to sell my double chocolate protein cookies as a way to raise money.” It was a successful fundraiser and I managed to snatch a second place medal which qualified me for the world championships in Belarus. Then the world shut down due to COVID-19 and I had all this new found time on my hands. I started coming out with new flavors and was selling cookies to family and friends and loving every minute of it. Then the world opened up again and I went back to work for a while. The second quarantine came and the third… After the third quarantine is where things really started to take off for Leafy Gains. We started selling to stores across the Maritimes. It did not take long before I decided to take the plunge and quit my job to pursue this business. I’m writing this in 2021 as I’m preparing for the world powerlifting championships, a few short months after launching Leafy Gains, the best protein cookies in New Brunswick. Two dreams I never thought would come to life. Leafy Gains is not only a protein cookie company but a reminder to people everywhere not to give up on their dreams.
